Welcome to the Good Life!!

Venus Dj, oil on canvas on display at LA Artwalk, March 2010.
Allo Lovelies!!

Once again it's been a looong cold minute since I've posted, so I guess a little update action is in order. Contrary to popular belief, my lagging on posts has not been due to the new seasons of  LOST & 90210 coming back, and/or the possibility that I might have finally checked myself into a shopping addiction facility (lies, all lies!!). As some of you may recall from my last post, I have decided to go to gradschool. And as part of that decision, I've needed to take some prerequisite courses, which have been super interesting as well as super time consuming. Actually, scratch that - psychology has been super interesting and statistics has been, well let's just say, "time consuming," and move on. Good news is that I'm holding up great in both, but the bad news is that I've had little time for my usual online Tom foolery that often results in Glam Vita blog posts.

While I was away ya best believe I was living it up Girleecat style -- MEOW!! First, from late Jan. to early March, I was pimp slappin LA, SF and OC with my girl Elle Aye who is a key partner in exploits!!! Our debauchery included many fun activities, including (but not limited to;): Mos Def @ Keyclub, cheering the Lakers to victory @ Staples, being asked to strut my stuff on stage at the House of Blues (hollywood), mani/pedis galore, good times in the LA arts scene, obscene amounts of shopping, an artsy photoshoot around LA taken by Elle starring Moi, racking up a frightening amount of stalkers, and much more!! For photo documentation of some of the mayhem PG style, please click  here, here and here. (Btw, that last link was to the photo shoot we lovingly named Vivrant Thing, which I'm going to post again on this blog.)

Oh, and for those who don't already know, I just got back from a 10-day trip to India, which included tons-oh-meditation, yoga, hangin with family, shopping (of course), and meeting cool new people. It was a trip of a lifetime and I have some pix of India to post, which will also be featured in a separate post either here or on C.O.P. (another, much bigger blog I contribute to once in a looong while).

Anywho, now that we're all caught up, I'll leave you with a little ditty I like to call, Dr. Obama stunts an already stunted economy in the name of healthcare reform! As many of you already must know, Obeezy brought forth more of that change of his earlier this month when he put the smackdown on the US healthcare debacle system and flipped the script a bit. For those not really sure of what it all might mean, here's a helpful article that sums up the pro's and con's of it all. While many of the changes have been  taken as positive, some others are going to financially destroy the way many healthcare professionals are compensated. Not to mention, people like yours truly will be forced to get insurance, which is a good thing as a whole, but it also means inadvertantly picking up the slack to pay for those dumbf*cks out there who have made themselve unhealthy from years of smoking, abusing drugs and/or overconsumption of chili cheese fries. This last fact lies in direct opposition with some of my current views, namely my belief that my moolah should not go to helping  the likes of skankbags like good ol' Lilo stay upright long enough to continue to have spitting fights with Sam Ronsen...yay... ;-/

Big Bird turns 40!!!

Greetings my lovelies! Today I spent the morning at my parents' house where my niece and nephew are staying. I noticed them watching Sesame Street and I decided to chill for a spill and watch the show. As it turns out I was in for a treat since it happened to be the show's 40th birthday episode!! Holla!!!
And as to be expected, many festivites were on deck for celebrating the 40th bday of the street where everything's "A-OK." The biggest surprise was a guest spot by Michelle Obama who apparently bonded with Big Bird over being tall; however, this all could have been a cover for Mrs. Obama's real motive: to snag some of Big Bird's feathers and use 'em to concoct next year's big money making flu epidemic: Big Bird Flu. (AKA, the "ABC-123 Virus") ;-p

Anywho, my sister-in-law brought up a valid point while we were watching the show: Elmo sooo wasn't the stoked character in our day!!! Today he is the End-all/Be-all of childrens' characters to the Elmer's paste-eating set the world over, but in our day Elmo was a nobody compared to the OG likes of Oscar the Grouch and the proverbial homie, Snuffleupagus. Hell, even the not-so ambiguously gay Bert n' Ernie got more play than Elmo did back in the day.
It's almost enough to make ya wonder if Elmo and his handlers sold his puppet soul to the devil or some evil hitmaker like Simon Cowell or Montgomery C. Burns. I can just imagine how it went down...
Elmo: Elmo want to be cool.
Monty Burns: This can be arranged, but for a price...I want 45% of your life's earnings and the hand that's up your ass to be up mine as well.
Elmo: Elmo no want to share tickle-me-ass plug, but will do it for fame. Make everyone love Elmo!!
Monty Burns: Excellent! Smithers, fetch me my furry red hot pants and slather my chest with glitter oil - it's time to celebrate!!
Lol..I mean, if it worked for Elmo, maybe I should hit up Cowell or Burns or Lucifer and see if I can wager my entire shoe and handbag collections to get lasting mega success as a writer???
...sigh...The cynical musings of my girleecat mind have led me astray from the main purpose of this post: Happy 40th Birthday Sesame Street!! May you have 40 more years of sunny days and sweet, cloudless skies!!! Woot-woot!!!!
